![]() ![]() I did not have access to a tuning fork, which may or may not have improved my situation, I don't know. I couldn't get it to so much as budge, not one tiny bit. ![]() The new bolt is in place but I could not get the fucking 5/16 out. It had a chip dished out of the bolt hole on the lower side and I thought (erroneously as it turned out) the bolt strength was or would be compromised as a result. Issue: a 5/16 1.5 inch split-shaft button head that went in on-lead from a stance, in hard granite. I have left behind one mangled chop that sits in the back of my mind like a festering, open sore. everybody just added and added, nobody pulled, nobody patched, nobody gave a shit about the aesthetics.and the 'solution' to the problem? hey, let's put in another anchor a few feet to the left! heck, i just got raked over the coals for pointing out a shitshow anchor that has SIX bolts (with anchor hardware ranging from decent to completely worn) in series in a two foot space. sadly, it's so much faster and easier to just drill a new hole, put in a new bolt, leave whatever mess behind, and move on to the next 'project' and so an endless series of crappy re/retrobolts proliferates.Įverybody wants a quick fix and few people (like you and i) seem to actually care about the quality and aesthetics of what is being done. It's pretty simple really - people are too lazy to put in the time and effort in terms of learning how to do things right (even in this day and age of endless instructional youtube videos and many other resources ) and actually doing the job well. ![]()
